About Build Your Future

NATIONAL LEVEL: The "Build Your Future" initiative began in 1997 as a national campaign to promote careers in construction. It was started by the National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) and evolved into a recruitment effort in 2011, providing resources like a website, scholarships, and training information.

THE STATE LEVEL: The Indiana Construction Roundtable Foundation (ICRF) was established in 2015 to focus on building the pipeline of workers needed to meet the demands of Indiana’s growing construction industry. ICRF began its work by launching Build Your Future (BYF), which is designed to expose Hoosier students to exciting and rewarding careers in the industry.  Since its inception, BYF Indiana has visited over 200 classrooms, career fairs, and community events, interacting with over 60,000 each year and impacting countless career pathways.

LOCAL LEVEL: The Build Your Future Foundation in Elkhart partners with area organizations and schools to promote careers in construction. We do this through career fairs, mock interviews, supporting construction clubs for middle school students and our partnership with the Elkhart County Boys & Girls Clubs.
