The office building is located at 25428 County Road 20, Elkhart, IN. The current building was dedicated on August 26, 1993, however, the Builders Association of Elkhart County was established in 1967. Gretchen Helman was the BAEC Executive Officer for 30 years and recently retired on March 31, 2012. Upon her retirement Kim McKibbin was appointed as the Executive Officer for the association.

The Builders Association of Elkhart County is the 2nd largest association in the state of Indiana with a very diverse membership-from custom home builders to vacuum cleaner sales & service. All members must abide by a code of ethics. We pride ourselves on honesty and integrity-an attribute you will find with each and every member.

Our builders are committed to the
Indiana Quality Assurance Builder Standards. The Standards provide the new home buyer
and remodeling customers a way to measure their builder and the project against an industry approved set of standards. These Standards create a series of performance standards that builders and customers can use to communicate and understand each other's expectations regarding building/remodeling projects. The Standard's address the most prevalent issues that arise before, during, and after the project is completed.

The Indiana Quality Assurance Standards provide you, the consumer, with the confidence that professionals in the industry are handling your project-be sure your builder/remodeler is a member of the Builders Association of Elkhart County, and be sure that you receive your Standards manual at contract signing or at closing.

The Builders Association of Elkhart County is the Voice of the Industry. We can provide your company with the tools and contacts that will help you grow your business.

Joining the association will provide your business with many money saving advantages-from cellular phone discounts, insurance, and fuel savings. In addition, auto discounts are available from the local
Ford and GMC dealerships.
Your membership is not only with the local
association-your membership is 3-tiered! When you join the local you automatically become a member of all three levels of the National Association of Home Builders federation: local (BAEC), state (IBA), and national (NAHB).

The Indiana Builders Association, Inc. (IBA), is a statewide not-for-profit trade association
representing approximately 3,000 builders,
remodelers, land developers and suppliers to the residential and light commercial housing industry. They lobby for safe and affordable housing for residents of Indiana. There are 27 local builders associations across the state of Indiana affiliated with the IBA.

The NAHB is the 3rd largest lobbying group in the United States. NAHB is a trade association that helps promote the policies that make housing a national priority. Since 1942, NAHB has been serving its members, the housing industry, and the public at large. NAHB has been the "Voice of the Housing Industry" since 1942 while WWII was still underway. There are over 150,000 NAHB members nationwide.

NAHB's strength comes from hundreds of local home builders association's across the country.
